I'm excited to share today's interview with Pat Flynn. He is the owner of Smart Passive Income.  Pat lost his job as an architect in 2008 and was left scrambling to find what he was going to do next. Pat turned to internet business and published his first eBook explaining how to pass the Lead Exam (an exam for architects).pat flynn

He’s all about the passive revenue. He’s been setting up passive revenue streams since then. In addition to the Lead Exam for architect content, he developed a security guard training website, courses for marketing a food truck business, podcast and podcast teaching materials and so many more things, including his latest book out in August called Super Fans which we discuss around building and cultivating a loyal fan base.

Pat and I discuss:
  • Being laid off (fired), the anxiety and the will to find something fast.
  • His start to Smart Passive Income
  • How he manages work/life balance
  • What legacy means to him.
The podcast....Smart Passive Podcast
  • The biggest lessons he's learned from episode one to today.

I'm delighted to interview Mick West, founder of Metabunk.org, Contrailscience.com, I first heard of Mick on the Joe Rogan Podcast. Micks’s first claim to fame was as a video game developer, one of the founders of the studio that made the “Tony Hawk Pro Skater” series.   We talk about how we got his start debunking, conspiracy theories, contrails, vaccines and how listeners can get involved in promoting scientific and rational viewpoints. The highlight is his book  Escaping the Rabbit Hole which is a manual for adopting West’s style of engagement. matrix movie

As he tells his own story in the book, even then he was interested in the irrational ideas people spread around the office and online; cashing in his stock options let him take up his “hobby of debunking more seriously.

After serving a total of four prison sentences for crimes ranging from burglary to armed robbery to drug dealing. Dave Dahl turned his life around during his last stint and rejoined the family bakery shortly after his release. He went on to co-create Dave’s Killer Bread.

Dave had to accept that—at least for Dave Dahl—there’s no “happily ever after”. But he finds great satisfaction in “fighting the good fight”, one day at a time. He believes that forgiveness of self and others is one of the keys to inner peace and personal growth. But it’s only one of many lessons he’s come away with through all of his struggles—and triumphs.

Dave’s Killer Bread, a family endeavor, was sold to Flowers Foods in 2015, leaving Dave with a void to fill. He spent the next 2-plus years building what is perhaps the largest collection of African tribal art in the world. During this time he lived a semi-hermetic lifestyle. Now, with a healed heart and mind, he steps back out on a mission to help inspire others to find their own brand of success.

“‘Good Seed’ is much more than a killer bread recipe. Having been a ‘bad seed’ and destroying everything in my path as a troubled young man, I finally found the path of humility and teachability. It gives me the courage to fall down 7 times, and get up 8.”

Vadim saw a major problem in the industry: consumers are confused and can't see through the haze of hype on CBD all over the internet. The CBD School was created to educate consumers on how to use CBD and where to find the best products for their needs.

Vadim is the CBD Professor. For the last two decades, he has dedicated himself to researching the benefits of the cannabis plant. But it wasn't enough to learn about the benefits for himself—he wanted to share them with the world.

Thus the CBD School was created.

We discuss:

  • Marijuana propaganda
  • CBD School and how it started
  • Promoting CBD sites
  • What is CBD? Where CBD come from?
  • Difference from hemp, Marijuana
  • What’s the amount of CBD in Hemp Oil? What’s the amount of CBD in Cannabis Oil?
  • and much more!

I had the opportunity to travel to Amsterdam earlier this year for a Lenovo event we hosted with some EU colleagues. Before my travels I read an article in Travel Noire. There’s so much more to Amsterdam than weed culture, but there’s no denying that it’s a huge draw. I wanted to dive deeper and reached out to Co-founder Taraq who was happy to have us use his place as our venue.

Water & Brood's mantra is Good Food, No Bullshit”. It's a chic restaurant located near many of Amsterdam’s famous museums and attractions where owners and brothers Rachid and Taraq Hok-Ahin serve everything from chicken and waffles and acai bowls to dishes inspired by their Surinamese roots.

Taraq and I cover:

  • Going to school with a greater purpose
  • How he got into the restaurant business
  • The challenges of opening and running a restaurant business
  • Logistics considerations in the restaurant business (margins, competition, menu, product, etc..)
  • Difference between a coffeeshop which sells weed and cafe
  • and more!

Bailey Richert is Founder of Virtual Summit School and Host of the Infopreneur Summit. In this episode - we discuss what a virtual summit is, how to get started, tips on tech setup and general building awareness around your brand.

For years Bailey was caught up in the ‘rat race' as she followed what she was taught was the ‘right path' in life. A high school valedictorian and magna cum laude engineering university graduate, Bailey took a job for many years working the 9-to-5 consulting grind in California. The cubicle life would never allow her to achieve the dreams, goals and ambitions she had. So she decided to make a change and the journey began and continues today.

Bailey and I discuss;
  • Her decision to leave the corporate world and why this may not be for everyone
  • What and Why a Virtual Summit?
  • Benefits she realized from hosting 4 virtual summits
  • Steps to starting your own
  • ROI on a virtual summit
